Outreach and Missions mobilizes volunteer and financial support from our congregation to promote charitable causes in the spirit of Christian love at the local, regional, and international level.
Our church has supported local organizations such as the Attleboro Area Council of Churches, the Attleboro Energy Fund, the Old Colony Habitat for Humanity, the Homeless Coalition, the Attleboro Area Community Council, New Hope, the Literacy Center, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Regionally we have supported food pantries and co-ops outside our community, the Boston Fisher House (which builds houses for families to stay at while visiting loved ones in Veterans Hospitals), and the Maine Seacoast Mission (which provides health and youth programs to Downeast Maine). We have provided fundraising and support for international organizations and efforts such as Heifer International, Church World Services, One Great Hour of Sharing, 30 Hour Famine, Holy Joe’s Café (which provides support for soldiers overseas), and various medical charities amongst others.
We have worked together through volunteer action both near and far to help our neighbors in need. Our church’s Food Pantry provides food to anyone in need in the Attleboro community every month. We have made meals supporting the Food’n Friends program and the Family Café held at our church each month. We have donated Christmas stockings, gifts, and clothing to children and families in need, and have sent letters and packages to soldiers overseas. In recent years our church sent mission groups to Maine and West Virginia to build and renovate homes for those in need and volunteers have worked with the local branch of Habitat for Humanity in that same endeavor.
